In what temperature range should I keep the Egoderm ointment? Bearing in mind it's my first time using it,on a hot Sydney day with tops of 30ºC, the ointment seems rather runny. Would it be wise to store it at around 11-12ºC in a wine fridge? Please advise, Thanks.

Thank you for your question on our Egoderm Ointment Product. As long as the product is kept at under 30ºC it is fine to use, if you'd like to keep it in your wine fridge this may help. This product does tend to separate leaving some of the liquid to run out. The temperature doesn't usually effect this and if you massage the tube (with the lid on) the product should homogenise and combine together again. Let us know how you go. Ego Pharmaceuticals Team

Can I use this on open wound? I have an open wound in my face and was thinking of using this. I used this before for my skin rashes.

HI Bryan, No we wouldn't recommend using any products on an open wound. Please go and see a healthcare professional. Thanks, The Ego Team

Is this product safe for pregnant women?
    • Ego Pharmaceuticals March 20, 2013 at 3:13 pm
Hi Adriana, Thanks for your enquiry. We would not recommend Egoderm Ointment for use by pregnant women. There is little data available on the placental transfer of one of the active ingredients ichthammol and, even though absorption of this ingredient into the body is expected to be minimal following topical application, it is advisable to avoid this ingredient during pregnancy. Kind Regards, Ego Pharmaceuticals
